Rosie became an adopted Onawhim girl when she was
found in her twilight years by Dennis .
He gave gave her the name "Onawhim's Maple
Sugar" because as he said....
"she was brown, little and sweet". Rosie
went to the Bridge on January 23, 2009
She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Please read her tribute below.

A Tribute to Rosie
Hello all,
With sorrow in our hearts and deep sadness we write to you regarding
the death of our beloved dog, Rosie, a Shetland Sheepdog and the very
warmth of our home and lives.
Rosie came to us via the street; we could only speculate at her past.
But she carried herself with an indomitable spirit and a genuine affection
that could warm your entire being.
Rosie was a clown, and we swear that dog could smile. She would do
funny things, and she was perfect in her comedic timing. Yet this
was a dog that lived with that most unwelcome of companions, Pain,
her entire life. She used that pain, we think, to remind us to stop
and breathe a while, smile and feel some unconditional love.
Rosie died at Champlain Animal Hospital, outside of Lakefield, today
3:50 p.m. We were with her, sans baby, in all of her last moments.
I draped a blanket from home over her and at the last moment I looked
into her kind face. She was smiling, no doubt entertaining the Great
Architect and bounding after Cody. There is no pain now.
Yet our home seems colder and the shadows grow long on this winter
afternoon.
Good night, little girl.
Love
Dennis and that little kid who chased you around.
